Schools in Lake County re-opened to students Tuesday after Hurricane Irma.

Two schools had damage to their agriculture facilities.

The principal at Clermont Middle School believes a tornado ripped the covering off their greenhouse. Students won't be able to use it until it's repaired or replaced.

"Normally this time of year you would see it full of plants, because I have about 200 students per year that use the greenhouse," said Mike Garner, the school's agriscience instructor. "I think the students will be really disappointed. They enjoyed growing plants in the greenhouse," he said.

Clermont Middle officials are hoping to get donations to help fund and repair the greenhouse. School officials estimate the damage at about $15,000.

The storm also damaged two barns at South Lake High School's agriculture farm. The metal roofs were bent back or torn off. The barns are home to steer and pigs that students take care of.

"We'll go out there and help work on it and our Ag teachers will and we'll put it back better than what it was before," said student Kyle Pridgen.
