Lets get a check of the forecast for Wednesday and the rest of the work week:

With a frontal boundary left over associated with a trough settling over top of the peninsula, rain chances will be increasing for our mid work week to about a 40-50 percent chance. Tuesday was an overall hot and sunny day across the area with temperatures that got up to the mid to low 90s.

We'll continue to have a pleasant night, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 70s. As we approach daybreak Wednesday, we can expect a muggy start with increasing temperatures and cloud coverage in the afternoon followed by isolated shower and storm activity.

This pattern will hold through the next couple of days with temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s.

The tropics have been quite active these last few weeks. There are two main systems we are keeping an eye on. The first is Jose, its track continues to stay well to Florida's northeast with no direct impacts to us aside from higher swells and hazardous seas for offshore boating.

The next is Hurricane Maria, which is still a "potentially catastrophic" Category 5 hurricane. A weakness in the Atlantic ridge is still expected to turn Maria to the northwest and then north by the end of the week, staying several hundred miles to Florida's east.

With Maria moving to the northeast a few hundred miles off of our coast later in the week and into the weekend, we can expect boating conditions to become less favorable. However, surfing conditions will be improved due to another round of high surf associated with Maria's large swells. Rip risks will increase so it is always safe to be near a lifeguard and pay attention to the flags along the beaches.
