A Lake County family is living inside their home that has a giant tree on top of it.

Trinity Howard says the giant 160-year-old tree fell on her house in Groveland during Hurricane Irma while she was at home with her husband and kids.

"Everybody woke up to the house shaking and you could hear the truck crunching and glass shattering," said Howard.

The tree smashed their truck, and most of the damage is to the outside of their house.

"When I saw it, all I could think about is how lucky we actually were because to look at it, it's bad," said Howard.

The family of six is still living in the house with no electricity. And since they didn't have homeowners or car insurance, they will have to pay to fix all the damage.

Howard said she's working with Faith Neighborhood Center and has called FEMA and is waiting for an inspector to come out.

Since there are two teenagers that live in the house, Howard said they can't go anywhere else.
