In the second time in two days, the Orange County Sheriff's Office honored those who died while serving the community.

While on Tuesday Deputy First Class Norman Lewis was honored for his service after he died a year ago in the search for Markeith Loyd, three other law enforcement officers were remembered after they were killed in the line of duty 34 years ago.

On Wednesday, dozens of Orange County deputies lined up outside the Orange County Courthouse to remember the men who were killed and injured during the shooting.

The shooter, Thomas Provenzano, then 34 years old, brought weapons into his disorderly conduct hearing on Jan. 10, 1984

When he walked into the courthouse, bailiff Harry Dalton first noticed Provenzano, who was carrying a backpack and acting suspicious.

However, as Dalton approached him, Provenzano pulled out a gun and shot Dalton in the head.

Dalton suffered a brain injury and died seven years later.

William ''Arnie'' Wilkerson, a 60-year-old bailiff was killed in the shooting.

Another corrections officer, Mark Parker, was critically injured and paralyzed in the shooting. He died in 2009.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings told Spectrum News 13 what the ceremony meant to him as he was a police officer at the time and responded to the scene.

"We are honored to serve our community, the job does come with some risk and, yes, for the second day in-a-row now we pay tribute to those who paid that ultimate sacrifice," Demings said.

Provenzano was sentenced to death and executed back in 2000.
