Central Florida got some relief from the cold as temperatures got warmer Friday afternoon, just in time for the weekend.

High pressure to our north funneled in another round of very cold air Friday morning, but with some sunshine, we’ve been able to recover well into the 50s and lower 60s.

Those of you in Marion County are in a frost advisory with patchy areas of frost expected around sunrise Saturday. Although it’ll be another chilly night, we aren’t looking at a widespread frost or freeze like the past two mornings.

We’re expecting fairly light winds and much warmer temperatures over the weekend. Under a partly cloudy sky, we’ll push highs to seasonable levels in the upper 60s to around 70.

Sunday looks sunny with a high in the low to mid-70s, then mid and upper 70s return for Monday and Tuesday.

A system to our west sends moisture in our direction by the end of next week, although models vary on rain chances.

Our weekend surfcast looks poor to fair overall, with wave heights around knee to waist high both Saturday and Sunday.

A smaller east to northeast swell mix is also sticking around into early next week.

If you’re planning a beach trip, may see more cloud cover than sunshine at times. You’ll still want to bring along the sunscreen and make sure you’re reapplying.
