The City of Orange City issued a precautionary boil water notice for all residents and businesses.

  • Orange City officials issue precautionary boil water noice
  • Affected areas includes all areas not in purple boxes (SEE MAP)

Areas affected are all areas excluding residents and businesses along Rhode Island Avenue, Graves Avenue and Veterans Memorial Parkway.

According to city officials, a loss of pressure at the Main Water Plant interrupted normal water service. They said the affected areas could experience bacteriological problems.

Services have since been restored at the Main Water Plant, but officials are collecting samples to assure the water’s quality is safe to use.

The city recommends resident follow these precautions during a boil water notice:

1. Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, food preparation or any activity that involves the consumption of water. A vigorous boil water for one minute is adequate time to ensure that the water is safe to consume.

2. Affected residents should continue to take precautions until they receive notification from the City, issued upon authorization by Volusia County Health Dept., that the water has been tested and is safe to consume.
