Wednesday afternoon was not a lot different than the last few days as we heated well into the 80s under a mix of sun and clouds.

Slightly drier air worked into the atmosphere and kept isolated showers out over the Gulf Stream waters. The next several days will stay very warm and humid, and we’ll throw a very low shower chance into the mix from time to time.

A stout ridge of high pressure remains in control of our weather pattern, and won’t be budging anytime soon. This will keep very warm, muggy conditions around right into early next week. Enough dry air moving into the mid and upper atmosphere will hold any Atlantic showers at bay and offshore through Thursday, but we may see isolated showers develop along the coast and push inland Friday.

Right now, we’ll go a low 20-percent shower chance with most of us staying rain-free. We will keep Saturday and Sunday dry, then go 20-percent rain chance Monday as a system approaches from the north. We may actually see this front slip into our area Tuesday, with a 30-percent rain chance and slightly cooler air. Until then, highs stay well above seasonable levels in the 80s and we may be close to record territory in some neighborhoods.

Warm air may have you thinking about a trip to the beach, and it looks like conditions will cooperate heading into the upcoming weekend. We may squeeze out an isolated coastal shower Friday and Saturday, but it won’t wash out your plans. Grab sunscreen and anticipate intense sun mixed with clouds. Poor to fair surfing conditions are forecast tomorrow with a continued east-southeast trade swell and wave heights three to four feet.
