A national movement of pizzerias helped feed the needy Friday on National Pizza Day, and some Florida pizza joints were involved.

On "Pizza Across America" Friday, pizzerias donated and delivered pizza to various charities feeding the needy.

It's all coordinated by Slice out Hunger, a group that produces pizza-related campaigns to fight hunger throughout the year.

Modena Pizza in Altamonte Springs delivered several pizzas to Coalition for the Homeless in Orlando, just in time for Dinner.

Other pizza places helped the Salvation Army or other local shelters.
