The headless male body, which investigators initially described as a body with "obvious signs of trauma," was found by a worker in front of an auto shop near the intersection of East Donegan Avenue and Old Dixie Highway.

Mechanic Rob Figueroa said he was working at about 8:40 a.m. when "the guy across the street — he works across the street — he ran over here and he said, ‘There’s a body there with no head.’ I thought he was playing around,” he said.

Figueroa called 911 to report it.

"I'm from the Bronx... and this is the first time I’ve seen something like that," he said.

As Kissimmee detectives searched for answers, their crime scene extended across the street: Yellow tape surrounded a car with a busted back window across from Figueroa’s shop, and more tape surrounded another area nearby.

Figueroa said investigators are looking at surveillance video from one of the body shops in the area.

Police have not released the identity of the victim, who killed him or why, though they say that at this point, the general public should not be worried about their safety.
