The Osceola County Sheriff's Office says they received a call about a disturbance around nine Monday morning at a home on North Beaumont Avenue.

According to authorities, a grandmother woke up to find the mother and daughter with apparent gunshot wounds. She called 911.

Investigators believe the case may be a murder-suicide. They say there were no signs of forced entry into the home.

Sheriff Russell Gibson also said they aren't looking for any suspects and that no foul play is suspected, nor were there any signs of a struggle.

Still, Gibson said he will wait on the Medical Examiner's office before possibly deeming this a murder-suicide.

"All life is precious, and I consider our children to be our most precious gifts from God," Gibson said. "I have three children of my own and two grandchildren. And so I love them dearly, and I can't think of any situation that I would ever consider harming them in any shape, way, form or fashion."

Carl Brown, who lives nearby, said he would see the 17-year-old walk her dog almost every day.

"I don't know. You just can't tell what goes on inside the four walls,” he explained. “I've never gotten them to say anything or never stopped and really talked to them. They just kept to themselves."

For those who would see this family in the neighborhood, like Araceli Arteaga, passing by the home time and time again will be a painful reminder

"I don't feel good about this. Even though they're not my family, it hurts,” Arteaga said. “We used to live here for like, four years together, seeing each other. So this is very sad."

The daughter was a student at Osceola High School. Grief counselors are being made available to any students who knew the teen.
