Sanford Police arrested a man accused of shooting 19-year-old Ja'vonte Washington at Seminole Towne Center Mall Monday night.

Lewis Thomas Boone is facing charges after allegedly shooting Washington in the parking lot outside Burlington Coat Factory at the mall. Police say an argument escalated, and Washington allegedly reached to grab a firearm from the trunk of his vehicle and shot Washington.

During the investigation, authorities found that both Washington and Boone know each other.

No further details were released regarding Boone’s arrest.
