The worlds of couture fashion and fine arts are colliding for a one of a kind exhibition at the Dali Museum.

  • Couture fashion and fine arts collide in new Dali Museum exhibit
  • 'Dali and Schiaparelli' to debut at the Dali Museum on Oct. 18
  • Exhibit explores creative relationship between tw art icons

From the runways to the galleries, for the first and only time ever, the works of Salvador Dali and legendary designer Elsa Schiaparelli are on display in St. Petersburg.

"It's absolutely an appealing subject, the idea of what an artist does and what a fashion designer does are so similar. They work with the materials of this world and they express their vision," Dali Museum Executive Director Dr. Hank Hine said.

The exhibition explores the creative relationship between the two art icons.

"Dali and Schiaparelli were friends. They knew each other, they socialized, they exchanged really openly their creative inspirations," Hine said.

Bold and beautiful gowns, accessories, paintings, and photos line the walls as visitors journey through the past, leading up to the Schiaparelli collections of today and tomorrow. “Dali and Schiaparelli” debuts at the Dali Museum October 18th and the exhibition runs through January 14th, 2018.
