Tampa Theatre's Holiday Classics are back and with a peppermint twist!

  • Tampa Theatre's Holiday Classics moving to Curtis Hixon Park
  • The theatre is closed for restoration repairs
  • Screenings will be free to the public
  • Films to be shown on Fri, Sat nights from Nov. 17 - Dec. 16

While the landmark building is closed for restoration repairs, the Holiday Classics will carry on as part of Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park.

This year, patrons can get their festive fix of films like Miracle on 34th Street and It's A Wonderful Life as free community screenings in Curtis Hixon Park.

The films will be presented on a massive 40-foot screen and will run on select Friday and Saturday evenings from Nov. 17 through Dec. 16.

“When we announced the dates for our restoration, many peoples’ immediate response was, ‘that’s wonderful, but what about the Holiday Classics?’” says Tampa Theatre President & CEO, John Bell. “We hope that our patrons will be equally enthralled with their favorite holiday films under a real night sky as they are under the Tampa Theatre’s signature stars, and will come to see the amazing results of the restoration when we reopen just in time for Christmas and New Year’s Eve.”

All the screenings are free and open to the public. Lawn seating is first-come, first-served. Patrons can bring blankets and lawn chairs and refreshments will be available for sale from Tampa Theatre and a variety of other Winter Village vendors.
