It replaces Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular-100 Years of Movie Memories, which is now closed for good.

The new lagoon show at Universal Studios Florida will feature animated characters, a new storyline, lighting and special effects, Universal said in a press release.

Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular-100 Years of Movie Memories debuted May 8, 2012. The show--which was a celebration of Universal’s 100 years of filmmaking--featured fireworks, video clips from Universal movies, water screens and special effects.

Morgan Freeman provided the narration.

Universal has yet to release additional details about the show, including the name and an opening date.

The new show is one of many “new experiences” coming to the resort, Universal said.
