It’s all about touch and the sensory details at this Fort Myers museum. Blending science, history, and animals together to create an immersive experience.

“It’s not just walking around looking at things in cages that you can’t touch. We want people to get the full immersion of what we are trying to teach," said Matt Johnson with the IMAG Science and History Center.

At the Fort Myers IMAG Museum. you’ll find displays like the aquarium touch tank where you can interact with stingrays.

Plus, check out the 1,000 gallon fish tank where you can explore different ocean ecosystems.

“Regardless of your background or your age, you are going to have something you take away from this place that you truly enjoy," Shelby Baucom said.

They’re even expanding by going high tech with new, modern attractions.

Thanks to some pretty cool technology, you can now pop on a virtual reality headset on and be transported back to 1856 Fort Myers.

“It’s the first time in a 150 years that you can walk into the virtual world of Fort Myers as it was during the last Seminole war. A place you couldn’t visit otherwise," Johnson said.

Whether you’re a kid or just a kid at heart the museum has a little something for everyone looking to get hands on: theimag.org
