Armwood's youth finally caught up with them Friday night against Gainesville.

After some early opportunities, the Hawks were unable to stop the Hurricane ground game as they fall in the 6A Regional Finals, 42-10.

The Hawks jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, thanks to a Nick Feely field goal, but that was the last time Armwood would light up the scoreboard until late in the 3rd quarter.

Trailing 10-3 in the 2nd quarter, Gainesville blocked an Armwood punt in the endzone to make it 16-3. The Hurricanes then found the endzone on a 30-yard run to go up 21-3 at the half.

Gainesville would outscore the Hawks 21-7 in the 2nd half en route to the victory.

Armwood failed to get into a rhythm offensively for most of the game. The highlight of the night came in the 3rd quarter when QB Alvin Bailey found Caylan Holloway for a 30-yard touchdown pass.

A year after going 15-0, Armwood finishes the 2012 season at 9-4.
