Tony Stevens didn’t put up spectacular numbers in his final season at Evans but he made plays when they need him most. The Trojans wide receiver became the first football player in school history to be named a U.S. Army All-American. His family, teammates and coach, Chip Gierke, watched Stevens accept the invitation and don the Army jersey.

“It means a lot," Stevens said.  "All the the hard work I've put in from the spring until now and from last year, it paid off.”

The 6-foot-4, 185 wideout was named to the 2012 All-Metro Conference Football team this week. Stevens finished with more than 400 yards and 8 total touchdowns.

Stevens is one of three players from the Orlando area who will play on the East Team in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX on January 5, 2013. Boone punter Johnny Townsend and Winter Park quarterback Asiantii Woulard will also participate in the game.
