To say the Al Golden era got off to a rocky start would be an understatement.

Less than 8 months after leaving Temple for Miami, Golden learned of an NCAA investigation regarding improper benefits given to past and current members of his football team.  The bulk of the infractions can be traced to infamous booster Nevin Shapiro, who is now in prison for his role in orchestrating a 930 million dollar Ponzi scheme.

Amid the distraction of the investigation, the Hurricanes fought through multiple suspensions, finishing the season with a disappointing 6-6 record.  The team decided against accepting a bowl bid in anticipation of the impending results of the NCAA investigation.

Golden was in Tampa Friday, another stop on his Hurricane club caravan.  BHSN's Adam Kohler sat down with the coach, discussing the ongoing investigation and the expectations for his second year at Miami.
