Tampa Catholic hired alumnus Mark Braddy as its new softball coach.

Braddy takes over the position that was vacated by Vernon Tatum this past March. The school announced Braddy's hirng in a press release on Wednesday.

Braddy is a 1985 Tampa Catholic graduate and played on the 1985 state runner-up team, that also included former major league baseball players Tino Martinez and Lance McCullers, Sr.

Tampa Catholic's softball team finished last season 13-3, losing to Berkeley Prep in district playoffs.
