The past year has been a whirlwind for former Berkeley Prep goalkeeper Bryane Heaberlin.

Just in that period of time, she's come back from a broken leg, graduated from Berkeley Prep in December, enrolled at the University of North Carolina and now begins play with the United States Under-20 National Team.

Heaberlin has been playing in the Olympic developmental system since she was 14. She is one of nine players on the squad playing her college soccer in the ACC.

For the next week, the team is training at IMG in Bradenton. The ladies will then break to meet with their college teams as camps begin around the nation. They will then re-convene and depart for Japan on August 10th for the Women's Under-20 World Cup. The team's first game is scheduled for August 20th.

Heaberlin expects her team to compete for a championship and should have a major role in World Cup play.

"I may not make the crazy highlight but I will be consistent. I'm going to do the little things to help our team win," she said.
