Lakewood wide receiver and University of Florida commit Rodney Adams and Cocoa running back Tarean Folston represented their country well at the 2012 International Federation of American Football Under-19 World Championships.

Adams scored a touchdown in Team USA's 23-17 loss to Canada at Burger Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Canada took an early 10-0 lead before Team USA got on the scoreboard with a touchdown just before the end of the first half. Canada increased its lead to 16-7 with a touchdown on its first possession of the third quarter.

Adams cut the lead when he capped off a 78-yard drive with a 12-yard touchdown reception.

Team USA advanced to the gold medal game with victories over American Samoa and Austria. In the 70-7 victory against Austria, Adams scored three touchdowns and led all receivers with 77 yards.

Folston was selected to the All-Tournament team for his efforts. He rushed for a game-high 60 yards in the gold medal game against Canada. He scored two touchdowns and rushed for 73 yards against Austria and scored a touchdown and rushed for 59 yards against American Samoa.

"The kids played their hearts out," Team USA coach Steve Specht said. "I'm proud of these young men. I hope they don't put the destination ahead of the journey. They made friends for a lifetime here these two weeks. That outweighs any game."
