No hurdle is too high for Lavonne Idlette.  The FAMU Law student traveled to London for the 2012 Olympic Games.  She'll line up on Aug.6 in the 100-meter hurdles.  Idlette is the national record holder for the Dominican Republic in the 100m hurdles, with a time of 12.96.

Once the first-year student enrolled at the FAMU College of Law, she continued her training at the Jones High School track.

"I've trained all year, four hours a day, six days a week," said Idlette.

Idlette ran track in high school and later received a scholarship to Hampton University.

"The first time I started thinking about the Olympics is when I got to college.  We had a few professional runners train at the school."

Idlette believes it’s time to show the world what she’s trained for the last four years.
