ST. PETERSBURG - The Shorecrest boys swim team easily takes the meet over second place Lakewood thanks in large part to the 200 Medley relay team of Farese, Chen, Grant, and Marshburn whom paced the scoring for the Chargers on the afternoon.
The girls meet was much closer. It all came down to the 400 freestyle relay. With St. Pete High clinging to a small lead, Shorecrest needed to win, and for St. Pete High to finish fourth or worse for Shorecrest to take the meet. The Chargers did take first, winning the race by 13 seconds, but it wasn't enough to hold off St. Pete High. The Green Devils get the upset win by 5 points.
