The Osceola Kowboys advance to the 7A state semifinals for the second year in a row as they hold off Tampa Sickles, 19-14.

Junior linebacker Riley Nicholson stuffed Gryphons running back Ray Ray McCloud III on a crucial 4th and 1 play with just over two minutes remaining that all but sealed the victory for the home Kowboys.

Osceola had three different players to score out of the backfield including the go-ahead touchdown run by Dwight Fagan to cap off a 99-yard drive to begin the fourth quarter. Sophomores Laderrien Wilson and Nazayah Brown scored the first and last touchdowns for the Kowboys respectively.

There were four fumbles in the game, Osceola committed three of them.

Sickles hurt themselves at times piling up 12 penalties for 95 yards.

McCloud, who is Hillsborough County's leading rusher, was held to just 14 carries but also caught three passes including TD catch to even the score 7-7 in the first quarter.

Osceola will face Niceville in the state semifinals next week.
