Last week: When is a tie a victory, when your team bounces back from an embarrassing Kickoff Classic loss to hand it to the No. 5 team in the nation. Plant and Sandy Creek had to settle for a 28-28 tie because of a Georgia curfew rule.

This week: It’s the battle for South Tampa supremacy. Plant hosts Robinson at Dad’s Stadium. The Panthers own an eight-game win streak over the Knights.

3. ARMWOOD HAWKS (1-0)

Last week: Craig Carrington, Greg Newton and Alfonso Thornton helped the Hawks ground game total more than 250 total yards in their 48-6 victory over Durant.

This week: Armwood hosts Blake, a team coming off an 18-6 loss to Brandon.

4. LARGO PACKERS (1-0)

Last week: The Packers shut out Northeast, 46-0, scoring on all but their final possession. Jarvis Stewart led the way with five touchdowns.

This week: Largo hosts East Lake.

Last week: The Eagles blanked Palm Harbor University, 49-0, with an impressive ground game, highlighted by Weston Fordham and Artavis Scott.

This week: East Lake travels to take on Largo.

Last week: The Braves defense bowed up in a 36-0 shutout of Jenkins. Kendall Gant set the tone with a 39-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter.

This week: Lake Gibson hosts Bartow, a team that defeated Auburndale 42-17.

Last week: Dragons quarterback Deiondre Porter accounted for five touchdowns in a 41-14 victory over Alonso.

This week:  Jefferson hosts Hillsborough, a team that was idle last week.

Last week: The Dreadnaughts easily handled Treasure Coast in a 35-6 victory. Quarterback Aaron Johnson threw one and rushed for two touchdowns.

This week: Lakeland hosts Winter Haven.

Last week: The Blue Devils went toe-to-toe with the upstart Haines City Hornets, needing a game-winning field goal as time expired.

Last week: The Cowboys claimed the Big Mac Classic title with a 28-0 win over Chamberlain. Quarterback Alex McGough ran for a touchdown and threw for another one.

This week: Gaither hosts Newsome, a team that shocked Tampa Bay Tech last week.

13. COUNTRYSIDE (1-0)

Last week: The Cougars stunned a talent-laden Lakewood squad, 15-13.

This week: Countryside goes on the road to face Southeast, a team that lost to Lakewood Ranch in the Bright House Sports Network Game of the Week.

Last week: The Spartans struggled in a loss to Countryside.

This week:  Lakewood hosts Palmetto in the BHSN Game of the Week on Channel 47 and HD 1147.

Last week: The Red Devils shut out Port St. Lucie Centennial, 40-0. The defense came up big with five forced turnovers.

This week: The Pirates will try to right the ship against Fivay, a team that defeated Ridgewood, 41-20.

Last week: Raiders quarterback Landon Galloway threw for one touchdown and rushed for two more in the 25-10 victory over Steinbrenner.

This week: Plant City hosts Wharton, a team that defeated Spoto, 38-0, last week.
