Josh Freeman had to start somewhere.

One of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback’s earliest football memories was created at the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition. On Saturday, more than 100 kids, ages 6-15, created their own football memories at the North Brandon Family YMCA.

Participants had every punt, pass and kick measured for distance and cumulative totals determined the winners in each age group.

Turkey Creek seventh grader Jahquis Duvert won his age group and advances to the sectional competition at the Bucs training facility next month.

“I practiced mostly every day at my grandma’s house or I go outside with my friends and play football all day,” Duvert said. “When they announced my name, I was like happy and I appreciated my mom and sisters for their support and their confidence in me.”
