After a rocky start, the Pasco offense came alive to score 24 unanswered points as the Pirates knocked off rival Hernando 24-2 on Friday night.

Things looked bleak early on for Pasco as the Leopard defense forced two fumbles and an interception on the Pirates first three possessions. Things didn't get much better in the 2nd quarter when Pirates' RB Jakiah Felder was tackled in the endzone to give Hernando a 2-0 lead.

Freshman QB Michael Penix would eventually get the offense clicking by throwing a pair of touchdowns passes, one to Brandon Ray (20 yards) and one to Isaac Johnson (5 yards) to lead 14-2 at the half.

The Pasco defense held firm in the 2nd half, keeping Hernando off the scoreboard, while giving the Pirates their fourth win of the season (4-3, 2-2).

The Leopards now fall to 1-5, 1-3 in distict play.
