Lake Wales held a Pink Out Friday night during their district football game against Auburndale. The Pink Out was to raise breast cancer awareness.
Lake Wales Regional Medical Center participated in the event. They set up a booth at the game with literature on breast cancer facts and prevention. The hospital sponsored pink footballs, towels and other freebies for the crowd.
The event started during the school day. Students, who normally wear uniforms to school, were allowed to adjust their outfits to include anything pink.
