Local team outlook:

Taylor

Defeated Crescent City (3-0) to advance to their second state final four in three years, third overall.

Tampa Bay HEAT

The HEAT's volleyball program is the first team in school history to make a state semifinals appearance. They defeated Winter Park Geneva to advance.

Carrollwood Day

The Patriots, led by star Aisling Sheehan, are in the final four for the first time in school history, knocking off four-time champion The First Academy to advance.

CCC

Three years, three trips to the state semifinals as the Marauders knocked off Fort Myers Evangelical Christian (3-0) to clinch a trip to the final four. Katie Moore and Shea Hamilton will play Miami Westminster Christian on Tuesday.

Holy Names

A district championship game loss to Berkeley Prep didn't shake AHN, who knocked off Fort Myers Oasis to earn a birth in the final four for the first time since 1997.

Sunlake

Huge five-set win over last year's state runner-up Belleview to advance to the final four. The Seahawks will face Merritt Island on Tuesday.

Robinson

The Knights surprised many by earning a birth in the state finals last year, but that was no fluke as Robinson is in again in 2014, beating Naples Lely for a spot in the final four. In the years since Christen Garcia arrived, Robinson has played in three regional finals and advanced to state twice.

Merritt Island

Kissimmee is familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have been in the final four three of the past four years, winning it all in 2011.

Winter Springs

A quality win over a talented Chiles team in five sets to advance to the state tournament.

Steinbrenner

Back-to-back appearances in the state final four for Steinbrenner, who will play powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday.

Lakewood Ranch

The Mustangs have dropped just one set in six matches since the playoffs began and will be making their second trip to the state tournament in three years.

University

A district title this season and now a trip to the final four for Orange City University, who will play Manatee on Friday.

Manatee

Funny to think that this will be the Hurricanes' first state finals appearance, given the success this program has had. The 'Canes will play University on Friday.
