Positive Coaching Alliance founder Jim Thompson grabs inspiration from all walks of life.

From psychologists to coaches, Thompson’s goal is provide young athletes with enough tools to make them best they can be – on and off the court.

“If we can get kids who play sports to see themselves as a triple-threat competitor, then when they graduate, they’re going to be better athletes,” Thompson said. “But when they graduate and go out into the world, they’re going to be better citizens.”

The PCA has blanketed the Bay Area with its support of high school student-athletes. Tampa Prep is one of the newest schools to join the Tampa Bay chapter and their student-athletes are reaping the benefits.

“I think definitely having a strong backing within the faculty,” Terrapins freshman wrestler Leo Tarantino said. “And with events like this, I think it definitely helps with how you are supposed to conduct yourself on the field or court or wrestling mat in my case.”
