For the third-straight season, Kissimmee Osceola put an end to Lakeland's season in November.

The Kowboys topped the Dreadnaughts at Kowboys Field, 35-28, in overtime on Friday night.

“Play for another Monday,” is what Kowboy’s running back Laderrien Wilson told his team prior to the game.

Wilson put the team on his back and his injured hip to carry the Kowboys to victory. Wilson carried the ball 16 times for 115 yards and two touchdowns. This brings his season total to 1,610 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns.

Both teams rushed the ball tonight very well. Lakeland had a total of 267 rushing yards, while Osceola had a total of 265 rushing yards. For Lakeland, Anthony Davis accounted for 172 yards and two touchdowns.

Both teams were averaging over 30 points per game, so it was no surprise to see such an evenly matched game. The Dreadnaughts scored a touchdown on four of their ten drives, while the Kowboys scored on five of their eleven drives.

With five minutes left in the fourth quarter, Lakeland tied the game 28-28. After a quick four and out and some big defensive plays, Lakeland got the ball back with 2:44 on the clock. With some big plays and a personal foul penalty by Osceola, Lakeland had the ball on the 37 yard line with 16 seconds left. Lakeland quarterback Aaron Johnson dropped back to throw and threw the ball to Osceola defensive back, Stephon Brown who intercepted the ball and returned it to the 38 yard line. Osceola would run out the clock and play for overtime.

In overtime, Osceola stuck to their running game and put the ball in the hands of Edtwain Black who scored the go ahead touchdown on a seven yard run. Lakeland had their chance to tie the game, but on fourth and goal from the 5 yard line, quarterback Aaron Johnson would run the ball towards the end zone, but would fall short of the goal line on a stop by the Kowboys.

Advancing to the semifinals next week, Osceola will host Tampa Bay Tech on Friday, November 28th.
