Now, Shelton Quarles and Todd Williams watch as their daughters, both outside hitters on Tampa Elite U14 Volleyball, will try to earn their own hardware at the USA Junior Nationals.

"I'm very excited," said Ally-Reese Williams. "I already packed a week before."

Williams and Gabby Quarles have been surrounded by a winning legacy their entire lives.

"Very early in her life we would always lay in the bed on my days off and watch SportsCenter," said Bucs Director of Football Operations. "That I think kindled the fire or stoked the fire for her to play sports."

"We just watch all time," said Gabby. "I even play football with my dad sometimes outside."

"We sit there and watch old NFL films from the sixties," said Shelton.

"He made it and I know that he won, so if I won too it would be amazing," said Ally-Reese Williams. "It would show a connection between us."

They are following in their father's footsteps, but there has never been any parental pressure.

"I don't have a lot of memorabilia up," said Todd Williams, who played in the majors for eight seasons. "I do have home plate from the Olympics and the silver medal, gold medal, and I have two jerseys up."

"I want people to know who I am, not who my dad is," said Ally-Reese. "I would rather make a name for me and have other people know me for what I do."

"That makes me happy because I want her to do her own thing and be happy and I think she is doing that," said Todd.

"I really want to go pro one day," said Gabby. "I'm always going to try my hardest to make a name for myself, not just his name."

"I tell everybody that she gets her athletic ability from her mother," said Shelton.
The same also may be true for Ally-Reese. Her mother, Erin Williams, played soccer in the Junior Olympics.

"I live my life through my kids now,” said Shelton. “As long as they're happy enjoying what they are doing then I am fine."

The USA Junior National Championships run from June 24th-July 3rd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Tampa Elite U14 qualified for the first time in club history. For details on the tournament please click here.
