The Manatee Hurricanes girls volleyball team opens the 2014 season with a win on the BHSN game of the week Tuesday night.

Manatee looked flat in the opening set but wound up winning the game three sets to one, 25-17, 19-25, 18-25, 21-25.

Braden river was led by senior outside hitters Siena Kelley and Cassidy Barich.

Kelley finished with 6 kills and 2 aces.

Barich had 10 kills.

Manatee countered with a trio of sisters, Haley, JoJo and gabby coulter who dominated the front court. Junior Haley coulter led the hurricanes with 12 kills, sister JoJo added 8.

The player of the game was manatee team captain Jacqui Armer. The junior who has verbally committed to LSU, had 6 kills and 4 blocks.

Manatee takes on bayshore Thursday night while Braden river will look for their first win of the season Friday at St. Stephen's.ext
