The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) will continue to hold its annual FHSAA Girls and Boys Basketball State Championships at the Lakeland Center for the next three years. 2015 will mark the 20th consecutive year that both the girls and boys state basketball tournaments will be held at The Lakeland Center.

“We look forward to continuing to showcase Florida’s best basketball teams in Lakeland,” FHSAA Executive Director Roger Dearing said. “The local community has always been supportive of this event and the Lakeland Center and FHSAA are both committed to ensuring a tremendous experience for our student-athletes, coaches and spectators.”

The tournament format will remain the same with four-team single elimination tournaments conducted in each of the eight classifications for both the girls and boys events.

“The entire Lakeland and Polk County area is proud to continue the long-standing tradition of hosting the FHSAA Basketball Championships at the Lakeland Center,” Lakeland Center Executive Director Mike LaPan said. “We hope to make the experience a memorable one for the visiting student-athletes, coaches and their guests.”
