East Lake continued their recent dominance over their hated rival Tarpon Springs, as the Eagles defeated the Spongers 24-14 for their sixth straight win in the series.  Florida State commit George Campbell, ESPN's #1-ranked athlete in the nation, took center stage.  He earned Player of the Game honors, with 8 receptions for 116 yards and all three of East Lake's touchdowns.

A year after completing their first undefeated regular season in school history, the Eagles are halfway to another 10-0 year, as they stayed unbeaten and recorded their fifth win of the year.  Senior QB Jake Hudson was efficient and effective for the Eagles, finishing 17-of-25 for 238 yards.

Tarpon Springs' Daniel Davis had an excellent night, recording 14 receptions for 185 yards and a TD.  USF commit Mitchell Wilcox also hauled in a TD reception from Brandon Casle (21-38, 269 yards, 2 TD).

The Spongers still lead the overall series 16-11, but have not defeated East Lake since 2008.  They will try to bounce back from their first loss of the season next week vs. Gibbs, while East Lake travels to Seminole for a 7A District 9 matchup.
