Here is this week's Tampa Bay volleyball rankings for week five of the season. Last week's record in parenthesis.

1. (1) Tampa Prep (13-2) - Big five-set win over a very-good Calvary Christian squad, keeping the Terps at the top.

2. (2) Bloomingdale (18-1) - The Bulls have won nine straight after dropping their only match of the season to Tampa Prep. They swept every match since, except for Jenkins.

3. (3) Clearwater Central Catholic (10-5) - Six-straight wins for the Marauders, who play two district games before heading south to Miami for a tournament. Circle your calendar for Oct. 16 against Palm Harbor.

4. (4) Palm Harbor University (13-1) - A second-place finish for the 'Canes in the Dr. Phillips tournament in Orlando this weekend, with their only loss to a team from New Jersey in the final. They won four matches to make it to the championship game.

5. (NR) Lakewood Ranch (16-5) - Hello, Mustangs. Sweeping Manatee for your first county title since 2007 is impressive. We won't overlook you in these rankings any longer. LR has won 15 of their last 18 matches.

6. (5) Manatee (10-3) - The 'Canes have a shot at redemption against Palm Harbor on Oct. 6.

7. (9) Sunlake (12-3) - Led by Sarah Sprague, the Seahawks held off River Ridge in five sets, staying undefeated in district play.

8. (7) Wharton (12-3) - The Wildcats ran into a train at Bloomingdale after winning the Durant tournament.

9. (6) Calvary Christian (11-4) - A tough, five-set loss to Tampa Prep last week. Three of their four losses have come in five-set matches.

10. (8) Fivay (13-5) - Lecanto upset the Falcons, who have a tough stretch coming up against Ridgewood, River Ridge and Sunlake.
