The Orlando Solar Bears lost a heartbreaker to the South Carolina Stingrays 2-1 in overtime Thursday night at Amway Center in front of an announced crowd of more than 5,500.

Stingrays forward Wayne Simpson scored the game-winning goal 1 minute, 16 seconds into overtime. South Carolina improved to (29-18-1-6) while the Solar Bears fell to (25-20-4-1).

Orlando has lost six of their last 7 games and host the Gwinnett Gladiators Friday and Saturday.

Solar Bears forward Brock Montgomery had the lone goal for Orlando in the third period.
