The college football world is already anxiously waiting for the first games of the 2015 season to kick off on Thursday, Sept. 3. UCF will now be taking the stage that evening as well. The Knights and FIU have agreed to move up their contest at Bright House Networks Stadium, as their season-opener was originally slated for Saturday, Sept. 5.

Kickoff time and TV details will be announced when they are finalized.

Following UCF’s tilt with FIU, it will travel to California where it will battle Stanford Saturday, Sept. 12.

UCF will be riding a seven-game winning streak on Thursdays into the 2015 season opener. The Knights also have been victorious in 10 consecutive home games, which is one shy of the school record set from 1996-99.

UCF opened the 2013 campaign with a Thursday-night home contest as it delivered a 38-7 victory over Akron en route to a 12-1 record and a No. 10 national ranking.

Last season, the Knights drew 41,547 for their Thursday clash with BYU, resulting in a 31-24 overtime win.

In the last meeting between the two programs, UCF blanked FIU, 38-0, on a Friday night in Miami in 2013. The Black and Gold owns a 2-1 series lead on the Panthers.
