Despite the enthusiasm and immense crowds for Orlando City home games so far this season, the Lions had been unable to treat their home crowd to an outright victory this season. Sunday afternoon the team delivered a crushing victory over the 5-time MLS champions LA Galaxy in front of over 40,000 fans for its first home win of this season.

For the 90-minute game, it looked like the Lions were the 5-time defending champion. Eric Avila scored 12 minutes into the game to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Kaka added a penalty kick goal in the second half to increase the lead to 3-0. Darwin Ceren finished the scoring in the 73rd minute to cap the 4-0 victory.

Orlando city improves to 3-5-3 on the season.
