Oviedo advanced to its first state baseball title game in dominating fashion.

The Lions defeated Durant, 12-0, in the Class 7A state semifinals with every player in the starting lineup getting at least one hit and six players with multiple hits. They finished with 16 hits.

Oviedo will play for the 7A title LIVE on BHSN Channel 47/HD 1147 Thursday at 4 p.m.

Scoring nine of their 12 runs in the top of the first inning, Oviedo coasted to its victory. JJ Woodard started the scoring with his bases loaded RBI single.

Austin Parker drew a bases loaded walk to make it 2-0, followed by back-to-back two-run hits by Shane Miller and Cameron Peppiatt. Carlos Cortes made it 7-0 with his RBI single.

Durant replaced starting pitcher Bryce Gainer with Josh Mejia before Oviedo added two more runs to make it 9-0. Zach Barfield replaced Mejia in the fifth inning.

The Lions starting pitcher Cooper Bradford went six innings, giving up only three hits. He was replaced by Nick Logan, who allowed only two hits.

With two outs in the top of the seventh, Oviedo tacked on three more runs. Entering Wednesday's game, Durant had allowed an average of 1.9 runs per game.

Miller led the Lions with three RBI. Peppiatt, Cortes and Ty Powell each had two.
