It will be the third straight meeting in which UCF and East Carolina will tangle on a Thursday night. It also is the third consecutive season the Knights are featured on an ESPN Thursday night broadcast. UCF carries a seven-game winning streak on Thursdays into the 2015 campaign, which starts up on Thursday, Sept. 3, against FIU.

The Pirates hold a 9-4 lead in the all-time series, but the Knights have won three of the last four decisions highlighted by ESPN’s telecast of the Hail Mary victory last year which earned UCF a share of The American title.

UCF and Furman have met only once on the gridiron in 1984 when the Knights were an NCAA Division II member. The Paladins served as the home team and topped UCF 42-6.

Since moving up to the FBS in 1996, UCF is 20-0 against FCS programs.
