The Tampa Bay Rays have agreed to terms for the 2016 season with eight of their remaining arbitration-eligible players: right-handed pitcher Alex Cobb, catcher Hank Conger, outfielder Brandon Guyer, outfielder Desmond Jennings, left-handed relief pitcher Jake McGee, first baseman/outfielder Logan Morrison, right-handed pitcher Erasmo Ramirez and catcher Rene Rivera.

Cobb, 28, did not pitch last season after sustaining a spring training injury that eventually required Tommy John surgery, which was performed by Dr. James Andrews last May. In his Rays career, he is 35-23 with a 3.21 ERA (498.2-IP, 178-ER) in 81 games (all starts), and his 3.21 ERA ranks second in club history (min. 300 IP) to David Price (3.18).

Conger, 27, established career highs with 11 home runs and 33 RBI for the Houston Astros in 2015, playing in 73 games including 56 starts at catcher. The switch-hitter owns a career .225 (200-for-889) batting average over parts of six seasons in the majors with the Angels (2010-14) and Astros (2015). Following the season, he was acquired by the Rays from Houston in exchange for cash considerations.

Guyer, 29, set career highs across the board in 2015, his first fully healthy season in the majors. He hit .265 (88-for-332) with a .359 on-base percentage and was one of only three American League players to start at least 15 games at all three outfield positions. He led the team in leadoff starts (52), plate appearances as a pinch-hitter (43) and established a club record being hit by a pitch 24 times.

Jennings, 29, was limited to just 28 games (27 starts) in 2015 due to left knee injuries, requiring two trips to the disabled list. He is a career .249/.327/.398 (468-for-1,876) hitter with 48 homers and 171 RBI in the majors. He batted .268/.324/.340 (26-for-97) last season.

McGee, 29, posted a 2.41 ERA (37.1-IP, 10-ER) with a .197 opponents’ average and 48 strikeouts in 2015 despite being limited to 39 appearances due to a pair of injuries. He has made a club-record 297 appearances in a Rays uniform, passing Joel Peralta (296) with his final appearance last season.

Morrison, 28, hit .225 (103-for-457) with 17 home runs and 54 RBI in a career-high 146 games (117 starts) with Seattle in 2015, his first time appearing in at least 100 games since 2011. His home run and RBI totals were his most since he had 23 homers and 72 RBI with the Marlins in 2011. Following the season, he was acquired by the Rays from Seattle as part of a six-player trade in early November.

Ramirez, 25, set career highs with 27 starts, 163.1 innings and 11 wins in 2015, his first season with the Rays. He was one of the best pitchers in the AL from April 19 through the end of the season, ranking in the top five in ERA, WHIP and opponents’ average. He yielded two earned runs or fewer in 18 of his 27 starts.

Rivera, 32, made a career-high 87 starts and caught a career-high 784.2 innings in 2015, the most by a Rays catcher since 2009. He threw out 36.5 percent of attempted base stealers, the third-best rate in the majors. His .178 (53-for-298) batting average was 74 points lower than his 2014 average with the San Diego Padres.

In addition to the eight players mentioned above, infielder Logan Forsythe signed a two-year contract with a one-year club option for 2018.
