The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed running back Antone Smith and waived running back Russell Hansbrough. Additionally, wide receiver Louis Murphy will start his Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform 21-day practice period.

Smith (5-9, 192) spent last season with the Chicago Bears (2015) after having spent the previous five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons (2010-14). In his career, he has played in 64 games, rushing 30 times for 297 yards and four touchdowns, while catching 15 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns. A native of Pahokee, Florida, Smith played collegiately at Florida State. He will wear No. 36 for Tampa Bay.

Murphy, who is currently on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list, can be activated at any time during his 21-day practice period.

The team also announced that wide receiver Donteea Dye, safety Trae Elston, wide receiver Freddie Martino and tight end Tevin Westbrook have been signed to the practice squad. Dye and Westbrook spent time with the Buccaneers this past offseason. Martino has played in two games for Tampa Bay this season. Dye will wear No. 17, Martino will wear No. 16 and Westbrook will wear No. 81.

Elston (5-11, 176) entered the league this past offseason as a college free agent with the New Orleans Saints and spent the offseason and preseason with the team. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Elston played collegiately at Mississippi. He will wear No. 25 for Tampa Bay.
