Tampa Catholic won their second straight district title, leaning on the legs of Auburn commit Devan Barrett, who had a career night with 323 rushing yards and 5 TD in a 38-31 victory over Lakeland Christian.

Barrett's touchdowns came on runs of 4, 98, 13, 3 and 48 yards, with his fifth TD of the night giving Crusaders an insurmountable 17-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Austin Sessums provided just enough passing to balance out Barrett's ground game. The senior QB finished with 156 passing yards, with his top target being Toledo commit Darius Corbett (66 receiving yards).

Lakeland Christian needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, and behind Wayne Peace's high-powered passing attack, the Vikings nearly pulled off the upset.

Junior Tate Whatley finished 13-of-26 for 267 yards and 3 TD. Trent Mason (84 receiving yards), Jacob Stephens (45 receiving yards) and Tyler Horne (42 receiving yards) all had TD receptions, while Tanner Molony led all receivers with 85 receiving yards.

The 3A District 4 standings are now set, as Tampa Catholic (5-2, 2-0) finishes as the district champion and Berkeley Prep finishes as runner-up. The Crusaders will battle their rival Jesuit next week, as they look for their first win in the series since 1999.

Lakeland Christian (6-2, 0-2) closes their season at home vs. West Oaks Academy.
