The UCF Knights are staying in #Bowlando after being selected to the Auto Nation Cure Bowl on Sunday.

The team’s first impressions came on Monday after practice where the team emphasized the post season opportunity to finish on a winning record.

“You know we always say our record should have been better than what it was this year,” senior linebacker Demeitri Brim said.

“We can’t rewind time but it’s real important for us to go out victorious and allow the young players to move on next season with momentum on their side.”

“We’ve been through a lot this year,” senior linebacker Mark Rucker explained.

“Ups and downs with the season but I feel like we still stuck together. I seen last year, the last bowl game we went to I seen some kids, the seniors, go off sad and I don’t want to have that feeling this year. I want to go out on a high note.”

Now the team has had some mixed emotions about staying local for its bowl game but many agree, including Coach Scott Frost, that it gives the best opportunity to fans and families to make it to the game.

“I think we will get a lot of support from people in town that will come to the game and there will be more UCF fans in Orlando than there would have been somewhere farther away,” Frost said.

The team will start preparing for Arkansas State on Wednesday as the team is still wrapping up finals.

Now leading up to the game, the team will stay at Universal Studios and they’ll also be able to catch the Clippers vs. Magic game downtown.
