Bartow's offense is clicking on all cylinders as the Yellow Jackets scored double-digit runs for the fourth time in their last five games, routing Durant 11-1 on the Game of the Week.
Florida Gulf Coast signee Lexi Sims was a single shy of hitting for the cycle and drove in five runs, including a three-run double in a five-run bottom of the second that broke the game open. Every Yellow Jacket reached base at least once and the team finished with 13 hits. Over their last five games, Bartow is averaging 11.8 runs/game.
Freshman Jaden Williamson shut down the Cougars in the circle, aside from allowing a third inning RBI single to Florida Atlantic commit Sloan Hammons. Williamson finished with three strikeouts and improves to 4-2 this season.
Bartow (14-3) finishes 2-0 in pool play of The Rutenbar Classic, after defeating Plant 8-4 in an earlier game. Durant (7-11) also lost to Plant and will look to rebound in their two tournament games tomorrow.
