UCF head men’s basketball coach Johnny Dawkins has announced Jimmy Drew will serve as the program’s Director of Basketball Operations.

Drew comes to Orlando after serving as the head prep coach for Victory Rock Prep in Sarasota, Florida from 2014-15. During his one-year stint, he led the program to a 25-7 record with a pair of wins over top-5 nationally ranked teams.

Prior to his stint at Victory Rock Prep, he was the head assistant coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Kentucky. With the Panthers, Drew led all scouting and recruiting and aided the program in reaching a Top-10 ranking in the NCAA Division II poll.

The Chicago, Illinois, native got his start in coaching at DePaul University where he served as a graduate manager, helping with individual workouts, scouting opponents and on-campus recruiting visits.

Drew played collegiately at Southeast Missouri State (2006-08) for two season before transferring to DePaul for his final two seasons (2009-11). During his senior season, he started 17-of-31 games, averaging 6.4 points and 3.3 rebounds.
