The Tampa Bay Rowdies got a big road victory down in Ft. Lauderdale over the Strikers by a score of 1-0.
The Rowdies controlled the play early on and had chances into the half.
The biggest opportunity before the half came for Ft. Lauderdale – Maicon Santos missed a penalty kick before the teams headed to their locker rooms.
The match remained scoreless until the 78’ when Rowdies defender Neil Collins scored off a header fron Eric Avila. The ball went high over the Strikers goalkeeper and into the net.
The win gives the Rowdies two much needed points to pull their spring total to 7 points.
Tampa Bay gets a week off and then returns to Al Lang Stadium on May 14 against Rayo OKC at 7:30pm.
