Orlando City is in the middle of a three game in nine days span, and injuries are already factoring in as Seb Hines and Rafael Ramos are ruled out for the week.

The quick turnaround from Saturday’s 2-1 victory to Wednesday night’s match versus Eastern Conference leading Philadelphia Union leaves little time for the two to recoup. Instead it’s Tommy Redding and Kevin Alston with the starting nod.

“I think the biggest thing is you just always have to be ready for it. Coach always says you never know when your time is going to come and it’ll probably come at a time you never think it would,” said Redding. “So  always be ready and always be working hard.”

Oviedo native Redding has seven starts to date this season, a huge improvement from last year’s solo start. Redding credits every time on the field with improving his confidence.

“The more I play and the more I am in and around the first team starting I get more comfortable and feel like I should be here.”

Kevin Alston will also be subbing in for Ramos, only his second start of the year in his first season with the Lions.

“Every team - it’s not just us - every team goes through stretches like this. You can do your things off the field as far as rehab, and doing what you need to do to get your body right,” said Alston. “You just have to stay sharp mentally.”

The Lions may not look the same against Philadelphia, but they hope to keep the momentum built in Saturday’s win. The three points moving the Lions back into playoff position in the standings with another three putting them right near the top.

“We’ve got a great incentive to go and win the game on Wednesday night. We could go second in the league which would be really pleasing,” said Coach Adrian Heath.

The Lions next game is Wednesday against the Philadelphia Union at 7:30pm at camping World Stadium.
