Bright House Sports Network is the home for high school sports and we honored the best of the best Friday night.
Beginning with a red carpet arrival at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, Tampa Bay high school student-athletes were treated like stars at the second annual Evening of Champions.
The Bay area is home to state champions and some of the top athletes in the nation in their respective sports. It's been a privilege at BHSN to cover these athletes, and the Evening of Champions was all about honoring their achievements.
Awards were presented in 43 categories, including athlete of the year honors in football, basketball, softball and volleyball, as well as coach of the year awards from each of our seven-county coverage area.
We will also recognized all the Athlete of the Week selections honored throughout the school year and the David Logan Scholarship recipients.
The overall Female Athlete of the Year is Bailey Hertenstien, the Riverview High cross country standout and the Male Athlete of the Year is Kyle Norstrem, five-time wrestling state champion from Brandon High.
